Build the Wind Phone

MISSION & DETAILS

We are beginning to imagine a Wind Phone on campus — a small, simple booth placed near the labyrinth, where people can pause, speak, and release what they carry.
This project is part of our Community Youth Projects and is still in its early stages. It offers a unique opportunity to create something meaningful for others, while learning, designing, and building together.
The mission can adapt to different ages and levels of experience — from creative ideas and visual concepts to hands-on construction and collaboration.
Support will be available throughout the process, including guidance from adults and, for those interested, the opportunity to work alongside a professional woodworker.

Who can join

What To Do

When & Where

This project is open to:
– Middle school and high school students
– Young volunteers interested in design, creativity, or building
– Anyone curious about being part of a meaningful, community-based project
No prior experience is needed — just interest, respect for the space, and a willingness to contribute.

Participants can get involved in different ways, depending on their interests and age:
– Imagining and designing the booth (shape, materials, atmosphere)
– Creating sketches, mood boards, or simple models
– Helping plan the layout and integration into the space
– Supporting the building process with age-appropriate tasks
– Collaborating with a professional woodworker for more advanced involvement.

Younger participants will focus on creative and design aspects, while older students may have the opportunity to engage more directly in the construction process.
The project will take place on campus, near the labyrinth.
Timeline and meeting times will be shared as the project develops. Participation can be flexible, depending on availability and level of involvement.
